I found a big one!
In summer of (about) 1980, I was sitting on the bank of Camp Wi-Ne-Ma in Cloverdale, Oregon when I spotted a group of seagulls gathered around something near the surf. I asked my friend if he thought it might be a glass float. It was brown and dark so I wasn't quite sure. He said, "looks like it, go!" I ran as fast as I could, as there were other people near it but they didn't see it before I got to it. It was an inch thick with pure SLIME and very heavy, but carried it back to the car after resting a few times. I took it home, cleaned it up, measured it (44 inches around), and have I've kept it safe every since. The story goes, that day there were fishing boats (maybe shrimpers) that came across a huge wave of glass floats. They filled their boats up with the floats instead of their days catch. They made more money in floats, than if they would have filled their boats with fish! I've used it as the focus for my bathroom decore, but now I'm ready for a change. I'm interested in knowing what it might be worth. Anyone?
